Driving Social Change: Introducing Nonprofit Central - OC's First Nonprofit Database for Donors

We launched ConnectOC with the goal of bringing awareness to our most critical needs here in Orange County – the place we all call home. Decades ago, life in small towns was simple. People knew when a neighbor was hurting and rushed in to help, whether through a kind word, a meal, or a place to sleep. Today life in Orange County is more complex. We don’t always see our neighbors who are struggling or hurting.

I believe there are tens of thousands here in Orange County who truly want to help but don’t know where to start. That’s why we are building Orange County’s first-ever searchable nonprofit database to help people learn about and connect with the causes they care about most.  We are thrilled that Nonprofit Central will launch on the ConnectOC website this June.

Here at OCCF, we have always kept a pulse on which nonprofits are delivering promising strategies to truly move the needle for people in need.  We now have an opportunity to do more.  ConnectOC is leading the way for us to share our knowledge with the broader community of those who want to lend a hand.  Our goal is to keep you informed, motivated and engaged with the tough issues facing our most vulnerable neighbors.

Information is a critical component to drive community change. ConnectOC’s Nonprofit Central is a powerful online tool that will:

·       Help donors make more informed decisions about their giving

  • Empower nonprofits to better showcase accomplishments, demonstrate transparency and connect with donors
  • Provide a meaningful way for the community to better understand social sector needs and opportunities to give back

How You Can Help!

If you are a nonprofit or you support a nonprofit that you think should be included, please contact OCNonprofitCentral@oc-cf.org to learn more, schedule a training and start building your organization's profile.

This is a critical moment for Orange County. We look forward to sharing it with you!

Thank you for raising awareness on these important issues. In my country, Switzerland, we do not have similar initiatives, I wish you luck in attaining your goals and hope we can get on the same path in the near future.

All the best,
Anthony Delarousse
